Terms of Use

Effective date: 27 October 2026 · Popcorn Otter by Jiji Labs · PT JIJI LABS DIGITAL

1. Agreement

These Terms of Use govern your use of Popcorn Otter (“the app”), made by Jiji Labs and published by PT JIJI LABS DIGITAL (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app. Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement (EULA) also applies to your licence of the app.

2. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Popcorn Otter on Apple devices you own or control, under the Apple Media Services Terms and Apple’s Standard EULA. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell the app, except as the law allows.

3. Your films

Popcorn Otter does not provide films. It plays videos you own on your own network. You are responsible for having the right to play and store the files you use. The app includes two short sample films (Big Buck Bunny and Caminandes: Gran Dillama, © Blender Foundation, licensed CC BY).

4. Free use and Popcorn Otter Plus

The free version includes the two sample films and one child profile, with every screen-time rule. Popcorn Otter Plus is an optional paid subscription that unlocks playing your own films from your NAS, unlimited child profiles, the weekly report and iPhone control. The iPhone companion is free and uses the same purchase as the Apple TV app. Features may change over time.

5. Popcorn Otter Plus: subscription or one-time purchase

Children cannot reach the purchase screen; purchases sit behind the grown-up PIN.

6. Your data and privacy

Your settings stay on your devices and, if you keep iCloud sync on, in your own iCloud. Please read our Privacy Policy.

7. Parental controls and use

Popcorn Otter helps parents manage what and how long children watch. It is a tool and does not replace a parent’s supervision. Parents choose and approve the content, and are responsible for the files they make available. Keep your PIN private. Use the app lawfully.

8. Open-source components

The app uses open-source software: VLCKit (LGPL 2.1) and SMBClient (MIT). These are licensed under their own terms, which apply to those components.

9. Disclaimer and liability

Popcorn Otter is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. Playback depends on your network, NAS and file formats and is not guaranteed. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Changes and termination

We may update these terms or the app. Continued use after an update means you accept the new terms. You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it. We may suspend access that breaches these terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, subject to any mandatory consumer rights where you live.
